HERBAL MEDICINE

Herbal Medicine can be done both over the phone and in person with or without acupuncture.

Alicia has training in both Chinese Herbal Medicine and Western Herbal Medicine. She primarily uses high quality Chinese herbs in her practice from Crane Dispensary. Chinese herbs are natural substances (most are plants) that are taken in the form of pills, powders, or a tea made from cooking the loose herbs. Chinese herbal medicine is unique because it helps to boost inner vitality while treating the condition that is causing the symptoms that you may be experiencing. This effect lasts after a patient stops taking the herbs if the herbs are taken according to plan.

Chinese herbs are effective for many conditions and are often used alone without acupuncture treatment. Patients can chose to make an appointment for Chinese herbal medicine without acupuncture, or it can be used as a complement to acupuncture treatment. The combination of acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine often accelerates the progress of treatment. Chinese Herbal Medicine differs from other herbal traditions because the herbs are utilized in complex formulas that are formulated for a specific patient and the herbs are very rarely used alone. The practice uses high quality herbs in pill form and granule form that have been screen for impurities.
